Dimensions: 11-7/8" H x 7-3/4" Dia.

A Superb, Chinese Qing Dynasty Doucai double gourd porcelain vase. Finest porcelain potted in double gourd resemblance, bulbous lower section converging into a lemon-shape midsection and finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the DouCai design color. In Doucai decoration the design is outlined in underglaze blue and filled in with overglaze colored enamels except blue. Colors which fit together but also contrasting or joined colors. Decoration in a combination of underglaze cobalt blue outlines and enamels added on top of the fired glaze, within the outlines. The main body and the lemon shape upper body adorned with abundant ripe peach among Fu-bat and interspersed with scrolling tendril and fresh foliage, enclosed and banded with repeating taotie mask and auspicious pattern. Interlocking key fret decorated on the mid, enclosed with thick single ring lines.
