Description
Sea Green vase painted in 1896 by Albert Valentien for noted Indiana artist William Forsyth. Pictured are three geese in flight with a full blue moon behind them. Marks include the Rookwood logo, which indicates the date, shape 732 B, an incised G for Sea Green glaze and the artist's initials. Valentien's full name is incised on the side of the vase. There is a tight line at the rim and a bruise, also at the rim, and fine overall crazing. Valentien and Forsyth became acquainted in 1896 and decided to exchange paintings for pottery. Height is 10 3/8 inches.
