W. Lester Stevens Watercolor Signed Lower Right. Framed: 31 x 37 1/2" Site: 20 3/4" x 27 3/4" Beautiful painting - excellent colors. Vintage driftwood frame. He first studied with Parker Perkins a well known Rockport Marine painter. In 1906 the National Academy of Design showed a work by Stevens and three years later he received a scholarship for study at the Museum School in Boston. He studied the masters in the European Museums during the war. It was said that he won more honors for his work than any other living artist in the Northeast. His work can be found in numerous museums and private and public collections. His paintings are often in the several thousands of dollars and higher.
