5th-3rd century BC. A mixed terracotta group comprising: a bird with pointillé detailing to the wings; a frieze fragment with Silenus facing with one arm raised; each mounted on a custom-made stand. 455 grams total, 5-17cm (2 - 6 3/4"). Property of a Cambridgeshire lady; formerly in the Igor Karmiloff collection (1925-2016), UN economist and author of Flashbacks, Icons of Impermanence, Bloomington, 2009; acquired in the 1950s-early 1990s.
