AN AMERICAN FLAME MAHOGANY SERPENTINE SLANT FRONT DESK, 1780-1815, the rectangular top above a hinged flame mahogany slant front panel enclosed by boxwood string inlay, opening to a writing surface before a similarly inlaid central locking door, opening to reveal two short drawers and storage compartments, flanked by vertical slide pockets and various arched pigeon hole compartments with short and long drawers, on a lower case of four graduated serpentine drawers with brass handles centering later oval escutcheons within string line inlay, over a conforming molded plinth raised on shaped bracket claw and ball feet flanking a carved scrolling shell skirt pendant. Height: 45.00" Width: 41.50" Depth: 23.00"
Condition
Good condition for antique furniture of this age, use and materials including but not limited to; old marks and scratches, chips, some old water/candle rings on top and interior writing surface, buildup throughout and escutcheons are replaced.
