Description
Greece, ca. 4th Century B.C. Drinking cup, finely decorated and of elegant form, with high arching handles, with support struts and thumb spurs, the cylindrical body flaring to the rim with a short lip around the base, set on a slender stem with medial ridge and steeped foot. Side "A" depicts a winged Eros, sitting on a pedestal base, legs crossed, wearing beads on his neck and right leg, his right hand holding a purse, his left hand holding a goose. Side "B" depicts an Eros, holding a phiale and a situla. Tongue design around perimeter of rim. 11"H.
