American Rococo Revival Metamorphic Rosewood Lady's Desk/Game Table
third quarter 19th century, New York, in two parts, the upper section with a carved gallery centered by a cabochon over a bank of two pairs of drawers, the base with a fold-out writing surface with a baize panel and drawer below, on cabriole legs. The removable upper section removing to reveal a fold-out top extending to a game table

Provenance: The Estate of Frank Fasullo, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Literature: An apparently identical desk, missing its gallery, is illustrated on page 8 of American Furniture of the 19th Century, 1840-1880 by R. and E. Dubrow.
