Description
Colonial America
American Colonial Era Wood & Punched Tin Foot Warmer
c. 1760s Colonial Era, American Wood & Punched Tin Antique Foot Warmer, Fine.
This useful, common Colonial device measures about 5.25" tall x 8.75" wide x 7.75" deep. These devices were used as the name suggests... for keeping ones feet warm while in the home, in travel or at camp, or perhaps while riding in a carriage. This example also includes its original internal tin tray for holding the hot heating coals. This is an excellent period item considering it received extensive actual use. Period repair noted to the wooden frame at top, lacking the typical wire handle at top for moving it from place to place. A nice piece for any period collection or display.
