Description
Signed and dated 1971. Watercolor on paper 30 x 20 in., 38 x 28 in. From askart.com: LaVere Hutchings had a degree in art, and during WWII taught art in Manilla PI as a soldier in the US ARMY. He ceased oil painting in 1965 and investigated pastels and acrylics. He then discovered watercolor, because he was looking for "transparency" which the other mediums did not have. Hutchings owned a gallery/school in Jamestown,California. He was well known and highly desired. He is hung in LDS Museum in SLC, at BYU, and elsewhere. He was featured in Art West, SW Art, North Lights, Pallett Talk, and has 2 Walter Foster, "It's Fun to Paint..." books, plus a hard-bound book, "Let Your Watercolors Sing" plus many prints, Hallmark cards, etc. Information submitted as a bulletin by:Tom Hundhausen, son-in-law to the artist
