The glazed opening bordered with ribbon-tied laurels and at top the upper margin set with a silver heraldic emblem of a dog above a banner inscribed in Latin Laus Virtutis Actio, with fold-out strut frame. Hallmarked St. Petersburg 1908-1917, and in Cyrillic ЯА - for Faberge workmaster Karl Gustav Hjalmar Armfelt and 88 silver standard. Overall dimensions 12.25 inches x 9.9 inches (31 x 25 cm). Opening 5.5 inches x 7.8 inches (14 x 20 cm).
