Description
Celebrating the anniversary of man\'s first flight into orbit, this brightly colored poster commemorates pilot and cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, who circled the the earth for 1 hour and 48 minutes aboard the ship Vostok in 1961, becoming the first man in space. This unprecedented success of the Soviet space program ushered in the beginning of the space era for mankind. In April of 2011, the United Nations General Assembly declared April 12 as the International Day of Human Space Flight.
