This is a rare and fascinating ancient terracotta clay relic from the KOMALAND culture, 15th century, Ghana, Africa. The Komaland culture is mysterious and not much is known other than the clay idols that are unearthed by farmers and villagers in the region. This stylized equestrian head was once part of a sculpture of a Horse and Rider, featuring an elongated head with raised "rein" like designs.
