Description
PAIR OF SOUTHERN CLASSICAL MAHOGANY SIDE CHAIRS, each having carved crest rail, a cut-out back splat, upholstered bow-front seats with likely later fabric, cabriole front legs. Retains old refinished surface. Possibly Thomas Day, Milton, NC. Circa 1840. Each 32 3/4" HOA, 17" W x 15" D seat.
Each with minor scattered wear, one splat lacking veneer, break and repair to one rear leg, small pieced repairs to legs.
Provenance: From the Penelope Rodman estate, Williamsburg, VA.
