Lot of 2 works by E. P. Cole and Ernest Reed. 1ST ITEM: Ellis Prentice Cole (American, 1862-1952) sepia toned gelatin print depicting a Western homestead with mountainous backdrop and sign reading "Spare the Flowers" in foreground. Signed in pencil on the matte lower right, E. P. Cole. Condition: Print mounted on card stock. Sight: 6-1/2" W x 4-1/2" H. Framed: 11-1/4" W x 9-5/8" H. Early 20th century. Cole was a Chicago painter, photographer, and lecturer whose primary subjects were Native Americans and the National Parks of the West. His works are in the collections of Little Big Horn College (Crow Agency, Montana), The Crow Indian Historical and Cultural Collection; Crater Lake Institute (Oregon); and the National Parks Portfolio (United States Department of the Interior). 2ND ITEM: Etching by Ernest Reed, signed lower right, depicting a grove of trees. Written in pencil lower left, "To Mr & Mrs. Clavil?" and numbered 21/10. Overall good condition with some toning. Etching: 4-1/2" W x 5-1/2" H. Sight: 8-3/4" W x 10" H. Framed: 9-5/8" W x 10-7/8" H.
