Franklin Roosevelt "Garnet" Scarf Pin. Ex. Forbes

Spectacular "Garnet" Scarf Pin. The pin was part of a small group of Franklin D. Roosevelt's personally owned scarf pins and was housed in a worn brown-green morocco case which contained a Franklin Roosevelt handwritten label on his White House card identifying each pin in the case. A photocopy of this card, in which this pin is noted as #8 "Garnet " ' " - (FDR's in College)" will accompany the pin. A stunning piece with impeccable provenance. Ex. Sotheby's auction date of 10/26/1988 which then sold to Forbes for over $3,000 for a set of 8 pins. Ex. Forbes (see below). A copy of the original Sotheby's invoice, and lot will accompany this piece.

Ex. The Forbes Collection. Malcolm Forbes (1919-1990), American owner-publisher of Forbes magazine, and consummate collector, amassed one of the most substantial and broad collections of such breadth and depth that it filled a half-dozen residences, and sat on three continents. Many of his manuscripts were sold in multi-million dollar sales by Christie's in the early 2000s. The Forbes name is considered to be the apex of provenance when attached to an item like the above. We are honored to have been chosen by the family to sell the substantial balance of the collection at auction.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
