"Espagnole" (Spanish Lady) Musical Automaton by Roullet et Decamps, c. 1900
With bisque head incised "A.D. Bouchet", open mouth, fixed blue glass eyes, dressed black mohair wig decorated with flowers and rosette, metal hands, the right holding aloft a tambourine, on green velvet-covered base with drawer (for key) and going-barrel movement playing a single air as the lady twirls the tambourine and turns her head, dressed in well-preserved and probably original gold satin costume with velvet bolero jacket and lace overlay, ht. 15 ¾ in. (40 cm), wig not removed for inspection, working condition but sticking, movement would benefit from cleaning. Mit Biskuitporzellan-Kopf, Halsmarke "A.D. Bouchet", offener Mund, feststehende blaue Glasaugen, schwarze Mohairperücke, verziert mit Blumen und Rosette, Metallhände, rechts ein Tamburin hochhaltend, auf mit grünem Samt bezogenem Sockel mit Schublade (für Schlüssel), Federwerkmotor, Mechanik und Walzenspielwerk für eine Melodie. Die Dame dreht den Kopf und bewegt das Tamburin. Gekleidet in ein gut erhaltenes und wahrscheinlich originales goldenes Satinkostüm mit Bolerojacke aus Samt mit Spitzenauflage, Höhe 40 cm, Perücke nicht zur Kontrolle entfernt, funktioniert, Bewegungen etwas stockend, eine Reinigung ist zu empfehlen.
