Description
A pair of Inca stone rams, Proto-Historic, c. AD 1500 - 1700, each nicely carved with large, curved horns. Domestic animal charms likely placed in small shrines where the animals were kept as a ritual protective device. H: 2 3/4 x 2 in (6.8 x 5 cm) & 1 1/4 x 2 1/4 in (3.2 x 5.7 cm). Ex collection of Prof. Theodore Gaster; Ex Florida private collection acquired from the estate of Prof. Gaster in 1992.
