Description
The figure is depicted on her knees clutching her hands to her pregnant belly in a protective gesture. This is probably the figure of a goddess who protects pregnant women from the influence of evil spirits. Protective symbols in the form of kavari shells are also carved on the cheeks of the goddess. Despite of its primitive appearance, the sculpture makes a very solid impression.
