Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, Ca. 1069 to 747 B.C. Beautiful turquoise glazed faience of a worker figure, details painted in black including hoes and seed basket; with a column of hieroglyphs which reads: The Osiris Nes nakht, true of voice. 3½" high (9cm).
PROVENANCE: Acquired in 1917 in Luxor by the seller's grandfather whilst he was serving in the armed services based in Khartoum, ex-Bonham's London Antiquities Sale 15215, 26 Apr 2007; lot 424.
