Description
**Originally Listed At $250**
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Michoacan, Protoclassic period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A hand-built pottery female 'pretty lady' figure of a characteristically abstract form with delineated legs, a portly abdomen, and a thick necklace hanging between her breasts. Petite coffee-bean-shaped eyes, a perky nose, thin lips, a smooth forehead, and huge discoid ear spools comprise her stylized visage, and an incised headdress tops her broad head. Traces of original white and red pigment are visible on the head as well as the ear spools and suggest that this figure was at one time painted with vivid colors.
