Description
This lot consists of a graphite illustration on paper, done in the Pop Art style of Tom Wesselman (American, 1931-2004). A handwritten inscription at lower right reads, "Tom Wesselman". This colorful image is delicately suggestive of the female form, while still maintaining an integral sense of abstraction. A prime example of the Pop Art for which Tom Wesselman was so well known. This unframed piece measures approximately 6.75" x 10.5".
Reverse side of piece features a stamp which reads, "Tom Wesselman. 1257 - 58th St. Brooklyn 19, N.Y."
Tom Wesselman (American, 1931-2004) was a painter, sculptor, and collage artist who is credited with his enormous contributions to American Pop Art.
