British East India Company Stock Purchased by Female Investor in 1775

A British East India Company annuities certificate dated November 17, 1775 in the amount of £20:7:6 belonging to an investor named "Mrs Ann Bayzand". Signed by three witnesses including one "Abraham Gomes". On watermarked cream laid paper. Expected light folds and minor edge darkening. A minor area of loss at lower right. Else near fine. 8.25" x 6.375". Accompanied by a vintage color print of London's Royal Exchange. Light scattered foxing, else near fine.

The partly printed and partly handwritten document reads in part: "Interest or Share in the Annuities transferrable at the East-India House, being Part of the Annuities which by an Act of Parliament, passed in the 23d Year of King George the Second, the East-India Company were impowered to raise by Sale of Annuities, in Manner therein mentioned, by me this Day Transferred unto the said Ann Bayzand…"
