Charles Darwin Autograph Letter Signed, December 9, 1857, 1 p., 4.75" x 6.625". Shallow folds, else near fine condition.

Darwin writes to his land agent John Higgins, regarding rent collected from Darwin's farm at Beesby. From his home, letter reads in full, "Ch. Darwin / Down Bromley Kent / Dec. 9th 1857 / My dear Sir / I beg leave to acknowledge & thank you for 248: 2: 1, placed to my account at the Union Bank. - [?] believe me. My dear sir / Yours sincerely / Ch. Darwin / To John Higgins Esq".
