Revolutionary War Blacksmith Maker's Mark Forged Sickle
c. 1770 Revolutionary War Era, Blacksmith Forged Sickle with Maker's Mark, Fine.
Original Blacksmith Forged Hand Sickle which measures about 17.5" overall with a 12" long curved blade. Its original wooden handle is a bit loose, yet remains firmly attached. Rare to find being an example with a maker's mark, located near the wooden handle. Similar to an example listed as #11 on page 269 of the "Collector's Illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution" by Neumann and Kravic. Wear and expected patina to both the blade and handle on this used practical period cutting device.
