Description
An interesting Egyptian glazed composition bi-color ushabti, 3rd Intermediate Period, c. 1075 - 664 BC, depicted mummiform, wearing tripartite wig with headband, arms folded across chest and holding a pick and hoe. A vertical register of hieroglyphic text down the front of the legs and a basket on back held in place with straps over the shoulder. H: 4 1/8 in (10 cm). Remnants of pale blue glaze with black details. Ex collection of Maj. James Findlay, Scotland, acquired in the 1950's-60's, thence by descent.
