French Belle Epoque Spelter and Rouge Griotte Marble Mantle Clock Garniture. Centering two standing young girls holding aloft Cupid, issuing from a bountiful basket of flowers and garlands to the sides. The figures after "Triumph de Amour," after Maxim. A cylindrical clock inset below the basket, the whole on rectangular rouge griotte marble base, on scroll feet. Painted enamel clock face. 'Triomphe de L'Amour par Geo Maxim' on plaque in the front, 'Societe Clusienne S.C.A.P.H. Cluses' to movement reverse. France. Circa 1890-1910. {Approximate dimensions: Clock 26 1/2 high x 17 wide x 8 inches deep, garniture 19 1/2 high x 6 1/2 inches diameter.}. Condition: One garniture with broken legs and separated urn, otherwise condition is very good.
