2 Chinese Ming / Early Qing Bronze Incense Burners; the first Ming Dynasty (or earlier), in an ovoid shape on 4 animal head feet, the sides cast with 4 Taotie Masks and an archaistic border, now with a 19 C ovoid fitted wood cover carved as a Lotus Leaf with holes; the second a small early Qing Dynasty bronze incense burner on three tubular high legs and with 2 loop handles inlaid to the sides in sliver wire with a design of 2 Taotie Masks linked with simple shapes, with a custom pierced hard wood cover with a green jadeite finial. Height of Ming bronze without cover 5 7/8 inches (15 cm.), with cover 8 3/4 inches (22.2 cm.). Height of early Qing bronze without cover 4 1/8 inches (10.5 cm.), with cover 4 3/4 inches (12 cm.). ************This lot was purchased by Chen Meiyuan, China. in our March, 15th, 2020 sale. Beware this buyer does not pay his bills. Therefore we are re-listing.
Condition
Age related wear to both, the first with traces of small loop handles to the top edge, removed before the Lotus leaf cover was made for it. wood with age related wear and a tiny chip to Lotus finial.
