Description
19th century, wIth Paint & Pencil Detail. Depicting a man attempting to pull away the ticket booth of the Cork, Blackrock & Passage Railway. Tremendous detailing in both background and foreground. The Railway was originally opened in 1850, and while initially regarded as an enormous success, but as time went on, various complications and competition turned the once successful company over time into an utter failure. The various symbolism and commentary in this piece bear testament to that, with the tagline reading "Can't remove it, A Dead Failure. 11 x 13 1/2" overall.
