Detailed political history for the period 1821-1833. Although the author intended to bring the narrative to 1848, it stops abruptly in 1833. History of the early years of independent Mexico, including the Empire of Augustin de Iturbide and subsequent internal wars. It also includes news about the beginning of the war against the Texans. A few old circular rubberstamps of Salvador Mota Velasco, Ingeniero; remains from removed bookplate.

Page 83-86: Behavior of U.S.A. in relation with Texas, treaty U.S. and Spain, General Long invades Mexican Territory, Flayden Edward and Hunter take Nacodoches, Mexican expedition on Texas.

Page 237-242: Question of Texas, Mr. Estevan Austin, donation of land to adventurers by the State of Coahuila, General Mier y Teran and the limits between Mexico and U.S.A., the colonists revolt, under the protection of the U.S.A., provisional government in Brasoria.

Appendix: Colonization file of the Texas lands ceded to Lorenzo de Zavala.

Staining and wear to covers, margins of rear cover darkened (from smoke?); occasional marginal staining within, left 1¾" of portrait stained, some foxing, still very good, quite scarce.
