Near East/Holy Land, Byzantine Empire, Phocas, 602 to 610. Struck in Constantinople, ca. 607 to 610 CE. Gold solidus. Obverse: Draped and cuirassed bust of Phocas facing, wearing crown surmounted by cross and holding globus cruciger in his right hand. Reverse: Angel standing facing, holding globus cruciger in his left hand and long linear staff surmounted by staurogram in his right. MIB 9 variety. Size: 0.8" W (2 cm); 4.2 grams
