Description
Eugene Daymude (1925-1995, New Orleans), "Continental Street Scene," 1970, oil on canvas, signed and dated lower left, presented in a gilt frame, H.- 70 1/2 in., W.- 127 in. Note: This painting hung for many years in the Alpine Restaurant, Chartres St., New Orleans. Provenance: The Estate of Paul Blaum, Covington, Louisiana.
Condition
Evidence of white paint added to horses. Loss of paint to proper left, about 20 inches from the bottom and 12 inches from left top. Very bottom could have been in water, discolored about 3 inches from frame, loss of paint on very edge, showing white gesso. Craquelure throughout canvas.
