Kisokolo-Masken stehen im Zusammenhang mit der Initiation. Nebst Auftritten an verschiedenen Anlässen, wie z.B. bei Beschneidungen, wachen sie über die Ordnung und die Einhaltung der Sitten in den Lagern.

Es wird angenommen, dass die Kisokolo-Masken einen Schürzenjäger darstellen und die neu beschnittenen Männer zurück in die Gemeinschaft begleiten. Sie tanzen sinnlich zu erotischen Liedern, um eine der unerwünschten Verhaltensweisen innerhalb des Dorfes zu demonstrieren.
