Southeast Asia, Thailand, Ayutthaya period, ca. 16th century CE. A cast-bronze Buddha head with a slender neckline and a textured headdress topped with a conical ushnisha. The serene countenance is defined by heavy-lidded eyes beneath thin brows, a petite nose, full lips shaped into a slight smile, a broad chin, and lengthy ear lobes adorned with tapered ornaments. Mottled patina in brown and green hues envelops the composition. Size: 1.8" W x 3.1" H (4.6 cm x 7.9 cm); 5.7" H (14.5 cm) on included custom stand.
