1984 Harley-Davidson XR-1000 Motorcycle. Inspired by Harley-Davidson’s iconic XR 750, the XR 1000 debuted in 1983. The XR 1000 was outfitted with pair of Dellorto carburetors on the right side and a high swept dirt track style exhaust on the left side. This race inspired machine boasted 71 hp, 48 ft/lb of torque and a top speed of 115 mph. In 1984 only 759 XR 1000’s were produced and they would be the last of their kind as the model was discontinued to make way for the introduction of the new Evolution engine Sportster series. This XR-1000 presents in excellent to near mint condition and is currently in good running order. The paint is the correct base model factory color and presents as original. Only the seat and rear suspension have been modified with non O.E.M. parts. The tank and fenders show no major blemishes or imperfections and all appear to be O.E.M. components. This unit is an exemplary example of this low production, iconic, highly collectible piece of motorcycling history and would be an excellent addition to any motorcycle collection.
