Description
Magna Graecia, South Italic, most likely Campanian, early 4th century BCE. A red-figure oinochoe with a trefoil lip and a single handle joining rim to shoulder decorated with a theatrical theme - a male nude figure, somewhat comical in appearance, striding toward the left, completely nude with emphasis on his buttocks and long phallus, his bearded face very expressive with a wide open eye and a raised brow. Above this vignette is a traditional wave motif. Size: 4.875" in diameter at widest point x 6.75" H (12.4 cm x 17.1 cm)
