Lot Essay: Merisier had a 2004 solo exhibition at Ramapo College's Selden Rodman Gallery of Popular Arts. His most recent group exhibition was at the Wilmer Jennings Gallery at Kenkeleba, NYC, 2019. Included in the permanent collection of Waterloo Center for the Arts where he had a 2013 solo exhibition. Merisier was a high buildings painter, often acrobatically working at great heights.

Melody Parker in The Courier, September 23, 2013, reviews the Waterloo exhibition:"The Haitin boen Merisier, now 84, has lived in the U.S. since 1968. Throughout his long career, he has drawn inspiration from the likes of Picasso, Chagal, Matisse and Jackson Pollock and melded it with recollections of Haitian society and spiritualism."
