Hair was an acknowledged leader and original founding member of The Florida Highwaymen, young 1950s and 1960s era African American landscape artists mentored by Albert Ernest (Beanie) Backus (American, 1906-1990), who was regarded as the Dean of Florida Painters. Hair's death was a defining moment for the movement. Presented in a rustic wood frame. Good overall condition, with some wear to verso and normal wear to frame. Measures 24 in. x 36 3/4 in.
