Massive Ancient Granite Relief of Jyeshtha, Late Pallava Period (275 CE to 897 CE), South India, Tamil Nado region. Carved with a large figure of the Goddess flanked by her bull-headed son and daughter, holding her crow standard (dhvaja). 29" x 30" x 14". Approx 600-800 pounds. Provenance: From a Private Hamburg Collection, Christies Sale 1974, Indian and Southeast Asian Art, Mar 212, 2008, lot 759.
