A LOUIS XV STYLE ORMOLU MOUNTED KINGWOOD AND TULIPWOOD PARQUETRY SECRÉTAIRE À ABATTANT, 19TH CENTURY, the serpentine rectangular brèche jaune marble top above a conforming bombé body with a frieze drawer centering a "C" rocaille cast escutcheon within contrasting inlaid side panels, above a fall front door enclosing à quatre faces shield within similar corner inlay and opening to a gilt tooled green leather writing surface, before a long drawer over an open compartment and three short drawers, above three exterior long drawers with similar inlay and matching escutcheons flanked by acanthus leaf and stem modeled handles, over a serpentine scalloped apron with a scrolling foliate detailed bronze pendant, within canted side corners decorated with elongated "C" scrolled acanthus and trailing bloom mounts ending before gilt curling sabots, includes two keys. Height: 53" Width: 29" Depth: 14"
Condition
Good restored condition with three very small veneer chips, age cracks, gilding wear and buildup on bronze mounts, normal old repairs, expected light scratches from use in areas throughout. Locks are French cut steel and throw twice when opening/closing.
