AN APULIAN RED FIGURE BLACK GROUND POTTERY DISH, SOUTHERN ITALIAN, CIRCA 4TH CENTURY BC, of shallow circular form with the central tondo enclosing a profile maiden bust with the traditionally detailed face framed by tapering curls beneath a white diadem above white disc earrings suspending beaded pendants and a double beaded strand necklace before her cloth wrapped chignon within a ring of Vitruvian scroll and a white painted berried laurel wreath centered by a raised flat rim painted with continuous black dash decoration, raised on a conforming short foot enclosing red and black tinted rings. Diameter: 7"
