Description
A GROUP OF TWO JAPANESE GILT AND POLYCHROME ENAMEL PORCELAIN IMARI STYLE SERVING VESSELS, CIRCA 1900-1930, comprising a scalloped and ribbed plate with gilt rim, the border with floral blossoms on a blue ground alternating with wide panels of flowers in vases on red ground, centering reversed and reflected scrolls with flowing ties, the back with blossom and cloud band decoration in underglaze blue, height: 1 1/2", diameter: 8 1/2"; and a similar form bowl, the sides with birds in trees on a red ground alternating with blossoming trees on blue ground, centering a large floral bouquet in vase, the side decoration repeated on the exterior, height: 3 3/4", diameter: 8 1/2".
Condition
In overall fair to good used condition with surface rubbing and wear commensurate with age and use, losses to gilt decoration.
