Description
**Originally Listed At $250**
North America, United States, ca. mid 19th century CE. A special ensemble of antique photographs in Union leather or thermoplastic cases - one daguerreotype, one ambrotype, two albumen prints, and four tintypes. The daguerreotype presents a well-dressed seated man and woman behind a protective glass frame. The ambrotype is a portrait of a woman with a feathered hat with a detailed copper frame and protective glass panel. Two albumen prints, one of an elderly woman with a bonnet and shown from waist up; the other, a mustachioed portrait of a man. The albumen print of the man is set in the same frame as a tintype of an infant, perhaps his son or perhaps the same man as a baby. Three other tintypes, each with characteristic rosy cheeks, display a seated elderly matron, a pair of young woman with well-made dresses, and a 3/4-profile portrait of a woman with a somber expression and white collar. A lovely collection! Size of largest: 3.875" W x 4.875" H (9.8 cm x 12.4 cm).
Provenance: private Los Angeles county, California, USA collection
