Description
An early 20th century Iranian (Persian) silver dish, Isfahan circa 1925 mark of Mahmud Rabii Late Qajar / early Pahalvi dynasty, of circular form with ovolo edge and incised rim. The field with an octo-foil cartouche with engraved ghalam zani decoration of peony floral arabesques populated with birds (golo-morgh), centred with a flower head reserved with basket work, edged with a floral between plain band. Marked to the reverse with standard marks (Û¸Û´), and workshop mark Ù…ØÂمود ربیعی . Together with a pair of early 20th century Persian silver salts, Isfahan circa 1930, each of circular form raised on three ball feet, the sides with engraved ghalam zani decoration of birds, scrolls and peonies reserved with basket weave, the underside with a rosette border and trefoil edge, each marked underneath with standard mark (84) and workshop mark.
