STEPHEN B. SWEENEY, HENRICO CO., VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, ovoid form with arched handles and squared rim. Brushed cobalt cloud-like decoration on both sides, additional cobalt at handle terminals. Stephen B. Sweeney (1799-1862), Bailey's Creek, Henrico Co., VA. 1838-1862. 9 1/2" H, 5 3/4" D rim.
Hairline crack off rim flanking one handle, otherwise only a few minor rim chips.
