Description
An early Italian bronze figure of Eros (aka Putti), the mischievous son of Aphrodite goddess of Love. He strikes mortals without their foreknowledge, causing passion, inspiration but also war and destruction (Trojan war over Helen). Beautiful color and patina. Possibly 17th century, or later. Bow is missing top part. 4 1/8" H x 3" W
