**First Time At Auction**
North America, United States, ca. 19th century CE. A wonderful pocket-sized pistol meant to be safely concealed beneath a coat or within a suit or dress. The barrel has an octagonal back section that smooths out to form the cylindrical muzzle, and the bore has six slender rifling grooves around the frontal opening. The wooden stock has a narrow opening beneath the barrel to accommodate a wooden ram rod, and the textured handle curves downward and forms an ovoid rest. The percussion mechanism consists of a hammer that pivots above a cap pin and can be released by the trigger enclosed within a brass trigger guard. Size: 8.625" L x 3.5" H (21.9 cm x 8.9 cm); (bore): 0.3" W (0.8 cm)

Condition
Restoration to back section of trigger guard along interior curve of handle as shown. Minor abrasions to stock, barrel, and ram rod, with light indentations to trigger guard. Nice patina throughout. Pistol still has articulating trigger and hammer but has not been tested for firing functionality.
