Vintage Chanel Couture Boucle Tweed Suit

1970s, size 2-4, powder blue and cream wool and cotton blend boucle in a windowpane check, the jacket with banded jewel neck, four button closure and two buttoned-flap faux breast pockets, the set-in sleeves ending in dual buttoned cuffs, the circular buttons white-edged gold basketweave, the front sides and outer arms with a narrow vertical tuck, the white silk-lined interior hem trimmed with a narrow chain and white lozenge-labeled "Chanel/Made in France", together with a matching front-tucked skirt with zippered and dual hook back closure, fully lined in blue silk.

JACKET: In overall good vintage condition. The seam at top of one shoulder has opened up approx. 2" (simply needs quick restitching). Hem chain with typical oxidation. SKIRT: In generally good vintage condition. Perspiration staining along the interior waist area. Interior with evidence of alteration down both sides from 1-1/2" below the waist to the hem (let-out approx. 1-1/2" to 1-1/4") as well as down the front 3" below the waist (let-out approx. 1-1/4") and tapering slightly below the zipper (let-out approx. 1"). Both pieces exhibit scattered pilling to the tweed.
