Vintage Chanel Couture Plaid Tweed Suit

1970s, size 6-8, bold pink and moss green wool blend tweed plaid, the jacket lined and trimmed with pink crepe de chine, with spread collar, five button closure, four faux-buttoned flap pockets and inset sleeves ending in three faux-buttoned cuffs, with pierced gold CC chain buttons throughout, the pink silk-lined interior with couture channeling, trimmed with a narrow chain at the hem and white lozenge-labeled "Chanel" over a cloth tag numbered "40079", together with a matching wrap-style skirt with a bow at the waist, a 14" off center front slit and back zippered and hook closure, fully lined, includes the matching pink crepe de chine long sleeve blouse, with band collar and self bow tie, the inset sleeves ending in cuffs with pierced gold CC chain cufflinks, the back with placket-covered ten button and snap closure.

JACKET: In overall good vintage condition. Silk crepe-lined interior with very scattered minor soil but no obvious stains. There is a faintly discolored area where collar folds at rear of neck. The seam from lower armhole down to hem at both sides exhibits an alteration (let-out approx. 1-1/4"). This seam has opened at the lower end at both sides, approx. 4-3/4" up from the hem. The chain exhibits typical minor oxidation. One cuff exhibiting a pale brownish stain (approx. 1" x 1-1/2") and lacking a CC chain button. BLOUSE: In overall very good condition. Evidence of a tapering alteration (let-out) from lower edge of the armhole down about two-thirds of both sides (vertically approx. 9-1/2"). One cuff with a brownish stain, 4" x 1-1/4" (same location as the jacket). The cufflinks exhibit typical minor oxidation transfer onto the fabric. SKIRT: In overall good condition with minor pale discoloration along the interior waistband edge.
