Three Men's 19th Century Waistcoats/Vests, 1850-70

This lot includes three men's waistcoats.

THE FIRST
Red and white wool crocheted vest with padded front, piped and backed in red silk satin, faced with red felted wool, front button closures, and blue and white striped cotton lining.

Condition
Condition: THE FIRST The overall condition is good structurally with the following: Losses: The satin backing and piping along the neckline has some threadbare spots. The weave at the bottom right back has loosened and opened into a hole. Soiling/Spots: The interior lining is heavily soiled throughout. Repairs/Alterations: the center back seam appears to have been altered in the past with what looks to be an opened dart. THE SECOND The overall condition is very good structurally with the following: Soiling/Spots: There is some light soiling along the front and around the neckline and under the arms. THE THIRD The overall condition is good structurally with the following: Losses: The button coverings are threadbare. Soiling/Spots: There is heavy soiling and spotting along the front  and back vest panels and lining. There's a dark mark on the front left collar. Everything is sold 'As Is'. The stated overall condition of the lot is based on the assumption that the wear is consistent with age and use. The absence of any reference to the condition of a lot does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
