Description
This is an antique pair of carved wooden male and female effigies shown wearing trophy skull necklaces. The Naga , a fierce head hunting tribe were known for their use of trophy heads as part of their shrines and ritual dances. This male and female pair measure 14 inches tall and 12.5 inches tall and were collected in situ in Nagaland in the mid to late 20th century. Part of the permanent display at the Metamora Museum of Oddities, Metamora Indiana.
